Beauty & the Bridge: Wilsonville Road Bicycle & Pedestrian Enhancements
The Wilsonville City Council recognized the critical need for better community walking and bicycling connections on Wilsonville Road and dedicated funds to create the "Beauty and the Bridge" project. The goals are to connect Wilsonville with:
- A safe east/west bicycle and pedestrian crossing under I-5
- An inviting, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing environment to improve mobility and encourage bicycling and walking
- A school-based process that involves students in design, creation, and production of public art along the underpass walls
Wilsonville students will have the opportunity to craft a truly local work of art that connects them not only today to a unique civic and educational experience but also to Wilsonville for years to come.

The area under the freeway will feature two travel lanes and two left-turn lanes in each direction, landscaping, and enhanced sidewalks and bikelanes.
